zines can be anything! this one is a single player turn based dungeon crawler. you'll have to use youe imagination for what the fortress you explore looks like, but you've probably got it juuust right :)

requires 6 dice, a small player token (use whatever you have to hand!) and something to keep track of your stats 

made solo for upo gamejam 2026 in one day! i'm writing this description from a hotel in canada :-) all included images are stock images and would have been replaced with my own art if i had time :-(

additional thoughs:

this game really was made quickly. it was very minimally playtested or balanced and as such, may not be the ideal experience i envisioned... most importantly, if i had more than one day i would have liked to have drawn my own art instead of using stock.

zines are an important and accessible medium used to share art, games, messages, to teach people, share experiences,  and a whole bunch more important personal feels i can't really word. this quick project for me feels like a starting point to taking my zine creation more seriously, as my previous three zines have all been art books and this time i managed a game! maybe next year you'll get something feels-y out of me again.

ideally i would have liked to add color and better emphasis on key information to this project to make the very dense amounts of information a little easier to understand, and if i'd had time i would have enjoyed being able to make large print and digital versions of the project to make my tiny zine a lot more accessible.
